Letters of Support for Pacific NorthWest LNG

A message from Art Jarvis, Executive Director of Energy Services BC

I cannot stress strongly enough the importance of sending letters of support for the Pacific NorthWest LNG Project now!

As of last night the tally of letters received by the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency was 198 FOR the project and 171 AGAINST!

Environmental lobbyists and special interest groups have been campaigning their supporters to write letters to stop this important project from going ahead. Too often it is the vocal minority that influences the important decisions our government makes. This time let them hear from us, the people who will be affected most if this project does not go ahead.

Letters do not have to be complicated, nor do they need to come from business owners. They should come from anyone impacted, and that is EVERYONE - ALL employees, spouses, seniors, young people thinking of future employment, the latest unemployed, EVERYONE!

Below is the letter of support I have sent out, with some other examples. Feel free to use any of the letters in whole or in part.

Letters must be sent to GNLPacificNorthwestLNG@ceaa-acee.gc.ca prior to the March 11th deadline. This is the moment for us to do everything we can - before it is too late!

Art Jarvis's Letter

Dear Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency,

Thank you for accepting this letter of support for the Pacific Northwest LNG Project.

It is extremely clear to me that proceeding with an LNG industry in BC is of the utmost importance.

In addition to the tremendous positive economic benefit to Northern British Columbia and the Province as a whole, LNG projects will benefit Canada and we owe it to the world to supply cleaner energy to the Asian market.

Realizing there are environmental concerns, I trust that all necessary safeguards will be implemented and monitored accordingly.

Protecting the environment is of utmost concern to us all and this can be achieved on this project via modern technology and strict regulation.

Please make the decision to support this enterprise.
